I know a lot about the NRL for a girl.

My mum told me when I was younger that I needed to pick one sport and put all my focus into that sport. I never could pick one so I did all of them. I played netball, touch football, represented my school at cross-country and athletics and competed at State and Nationals for Surf Life Saving and swimming.
Why did you start CrossFit?
This guy called Aaron Ming (Hongy) convinced me it was a good idea and he wanted to show people that he could actually get a girlfriend.
I wanted to try something new and something I never would have considered trying.
How has CrossFit changed your life?
Crossfit has changed my perspective on the way I train. Before I started Crossfit I was running at least 50km a week and was bored and tired and lost motivation. Every time I come to train at Crossfit Hunter there is something different everyday or a new technique to learn so I never get bored and I’m always looking forward to the session.
What’s your favourite WOD or movement?
Box jumps or anything with running in it
What’s your current goal?
To compete in a competition
What do you love most about the CF Hunter community?
Everyone encourages you through the workouts and they keep pushing you till your finished. I like that it is a massive team sport because I’ve grown up mostly in individual sports.

Tell us something we don’t know about you? I’m a closet nerd, have quite the collection of Sci-Fi films including Star Trek & I am also a huge Marvel fan.
Fitness Background (before starting CrossFit) Believe it or not I used to be very sedentary and was borderline morbidly obese. My weight loss journey which I’m very proud to say stands at 50 kilos lost, started around six years ago. It introduced me to running, cardio classes and boot camp style training.
Why did you start CrossFit? About three years ago my best friend was training in CrossFit & would talk about it all the time (how strange lol) and kept telling me I’d love it, I’d hit a plateau in my weight loss and thought I’d give it a go. I’ve never looked back!!
How has CrossFit changed your life? CrossFit has changed my life in so many ways, not only has it enabled me to become the fittest and strongest I’ve ever been. It dramatically changed the way I look at my body, the focus completely shifted from how my body looked, to focusing on what my body can do instead. CrossFit has not only helped me become stronger physically but mentally as well, it has given me so much self-confidence, a new found belief in myself and has unearthed one hell of a determined and fierce woman! I now compete and for the first time in my life call myself an athlete not to mention made some amazing friendships and relished in being a part of and belonging to one of the most amazing communities around.
What’s your favourite WOD or movement? I love anything with a barbell and am a little partial to double unders, a good chipper & my favourite girl is Annie.
What’s your current goal? The rig is like my arch nemesis lol gymnastics is a weakness of mine so to dominate the rig is right up there as number one goal. Amongst many!
What do you love most about the CF Hunter community? Changing boxes was huge step for me and everyone at CrossFit Hunter has made me feel so welcomed and accepted. I just love how friendly and supportive you all are! All the coaches are amazing and have been so helpful and made me feel right at home. You guys rock!
